Just wanted to update my “England Blog”
I have lived in Preston, Lancashire for 5 months. I have 8 months remaining. I finished my first semester at UCLan last friday, not without a few hiccups, bumps, bruises, and tears. I am awaiting a few final grades but thus far have managed to get a passing grade on all my assessments. PHEW! I have made friends, but miss my friends from home terribly, they are huge part of a delicate balance in my life- adjusting to life without “Saturday Date Night” has been a struggle ;)
I was more than lucky to venture home for a week at the mark of my 4th month abroad and brought my sisters back with me for a week here. It was quite an experience to vacation without our parents. I love my sisters so much, we are so blessed to have been raised to love and respect each other (most of the time lol)
Anyways, I have begun my second and final academic teaching semester. I am enrolled in Forensic Taphonomy, where I will be studying human decomposition via TRACES (a facility where we can observe decomposition in pig specimens, i know i know ewwwwwwww but so cool). I am also taking an expert witness class and a CSI for the Anthropologist class. I have a lot of large essay type assessments this semester… kill me now! My spring break may be spent at the library finalizing my Dissertation Proposal!
Following the next 10-11 weeks, I will be starting my masters dissertation… the be all end all for this course. It will consume much of my time from May-September.
There is so much to say and so much to tell you all, but I am too tired to remember! All I can say is, I love english breakfast and cider with black currant.
xoxo
till next update!
